Reviews
Written by the ever-popular Andy Griffiths, whose wicked sense of humour continues to engage reluctant and avid readers alike, one need go no further than the first page to understand just what you are in for: the book contains ‘arsetounding creatures’ drawn by the inventive ‘illarsetrator’, the highly entertaining Terry Denton. Set out like a fair-dinkum scientific book, complete with a contents page and a ‘bumolutionary’ time-chart, each double-page spread introduces a new creature, with a short description of its environment and habits, and a box containing vital statistics, including its ‘stink rating’. The creatures range from the fairly innocuous Trilobutt and Deep-sea Bum-dangler, to the truly horrific Turdle and Diarrhoeasaurus. Luckily, the book does not come with a scratch-a-smell. The weak-stomached should stay well away, but for those who like their reading hot, steamy and just plain disgusting, this book is perfect.

Not to put too fine a point on it Andy Griffiths and Terry Denton must have a thing about, well, bums actually. The award-winning author and illustrator have just released the hilarious What Bumosaur Is That?, the definitive guide to the bumosaurs who roamed the Earth 250,000 years ago... Anything that puts bums and dinosaurs together will be loved by boys, but girls, I am not so sure. Some will consider it crude, but to me it is just harmless fun which kids will get a giggle out of. And I would rather kids read about bumosaurs than not read at all.
